Matt and Julia relocated to Kalgoorlie where they bought a house. Matt continued working in Coolgardie for Focus Minerals. He took up golf, playing on the uniquely dusty Kalgoorlie golf courses, and played the odd game of squash. Other interests included doing work on the house and garden, drinking English beers at the Metropole pub and hosting bbqs for friends
